You need an agent to fetch real-time sales order status from an external logistics platform. Which tool in AI Agent Studio helps build this…

The External REST tool in AI Agent Studio is specifically designed to enable the agent to communicate with external systems via REST APIs. To fetch real-time sales order status from an external logistics platform, the agent needs to make an API call to that platform's endpoint. The External REST tool provides the necessary functionality to configure and execute these external API requests, retrieve the data, and make it available to the agent for processing and responding to the user.

B. User Session tool: This tool is used to access information about the current user's session within the application, such as user ID or preferences, not for external data retrieval.

C. Document tool: This tool is designed for searching and retrieving information from a pre-defined knowledge base or document store, not for fetching real-time transactional data from an external service.

D. Business Object tool: This tool interacts with internal business objects within the host Oracle application (e.g., Fusion Apps), not with external, third-party platforms.

1. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Documentation - Oracle Digital Assistant. "Tools in AI Agent Studio". This official documentation explicitly states

"Use this [External REST] tool to enable the agent to call an external REST API." It further describes the other tools

confirming their different purposes. The Business Object tool is for "business objects in the host application

" the Document tool is to "search for information in a knowledge base

" and the User Session tool is to "get information about the current user session." This directly supports the selection of the External REST tool for the described task. (Accessed via Oracle Help Center for Oracle Digital Assistant
