Which of the below is NOT a reason why application Architecture is important when building quality software solutions?

While application architecture is a critical tool for communication, its primary purpose is to define the technical structure and quality attributes of a software solution. The main goals are to manage complexity, facilitate change, reduce technical risks, and lower long-term costs. The statement "Helps you to get buy in from the business" describes a project management or stakeholder engagement activity. Although a clear architecture facilitates this communication, getting "buy-in" is a secondary outcome, not a fundamental reason for architecture's importance in building a quality technical solution. The other options are direct, core benefits that define the quality and viability of the software itself.

A. Reduces Costs: A well-designed architecture promotes reusability and maintainability, which directly reduces development and long-term operational costs.

B. Reduces Risk: Architecture is used to address non-functional requirements like scalability, security, and performance early, mitigating significant technical and business risks.

C. Manages Complexity: A core function of architecture is to decompose a complex system into simpler, manageable, and understandable modules or layers.

D. Facilitate Change: A key goal of architecture is creating a loosely coupled system that can be easily and safely modified or extended over time.

E. Supports Planning: The architectural blueprint is essential for organizing development teams, defining work packages, and creating realistic project plans and estimates. (Note: The question had a duplicate letter; this option corresponds to the first 'F' in the list).

G. Drives Consensus: Architecture provides a shared technical vision and a common language, which is crucial for aligning development teams and driving consensus on the implementation approach.

"Designing the architecture of your OutSystems applications": The introduction states

"A sound application architecture ensures that your applications are scalable

maintainable

and reliable." It emphasizes that good architecture allows applications to "evolve and be changed quickly" (Facilitate Change)

"scale to support a growing number of users" (Reduces Risk)

and "be developed by independent teams of developers" (Manages Complexity

Supports Planning). These are cited as the primary technical and operational drivers.

2. OutSystems Official Documentation

"The 4 Layer Canvas": This foundational architectural guide explains how to "promote the correct abstraction of reusable services" (Reduces Costs) and "isolate the different functional modules to allow for independent development" (Manages Complexity

Supports Planning). The focus is on the technical structure to achieve maintainability and reusability.
