Which one of the following contains information describing construction materials such as doors windows, hardware, and finishes?

In construction documents, schedules are tabular formats used to organize and present detailed information about repetitive building elements. Specific schedules are created for items like doors, windows, hardware, and room finishes. For example, a door schedule will list every door by number and specify its type, size, material, fire-rating, and required hardware. This method provides a clear, concise, and organized way to convey a large volume of specific data that would otherwise clutter the floor plans.

B. Details: Details are large-scale drawings that illustrate how specific components are assembled or installed, not a comprehensive list of materials.

C. Specific notes: Specific notes (or keynotes) provide targeted information for a particular item or location on a drawing, not a systematic project-wide list.

D. General notes: General notes provide broad information and requirements that apply to an entire drawing sheet or the project as a whole.

1. SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering, 5th Edition. Chapter 7, "Working with Architects and Engineers," Section 7.4, "Construction Documents." This section describes the various components of a set of construction drawings, noting that schedules are used to list items such as doors, windows, and finishes.

2. Ching, Francis D.K. Architectural Graphics, 6th Edition. John Wiley & Sons, 2015. Chapter 6, "Construction Drawings," page 218. The text explicitly states, "Schedules are tabular listings of information...Common schedules include door, window, and finish schedules."

3. Oklahoma State University, Fire Protection Publications. Plans Review for Fire and Life Safety, 1st Edition. Chapter 3, "Reading Construction Documents," Section "Schedules." This text, used in fire protection engineering programs, defines schedules as "a chart that is used to describe items such as doors, windows, and finishes."
