Communication, collaboration and planning across the product team, facilitate product:

Communication, collaboration, and planning are fundamental activities that ensure all members of the product team and relevant stakeholders have a shared understanding of the product's goals, priorities, scope, and constraints. This process of creating and maintaining a common perspective is the essence of alignment. By engaging in these activities, the team ensures their efforts are synchronized and directed toward the same objectives, minimizing rework and maximizing value delivery. Alignment is the direct outcome of these interactive and continuous processes, enabling the team to function as a cohesive unit.

A. Implementation: This is the process of building the product. The listed activities are essential prerequisites for effective implementation, but they are not the implementation itself.

C. ownership: This refers to the accountability and authority for the product. While these activities foster a sense of shared responsibility, their primary, direct outcome is alignment, not the formal state of ownership.

D. vision: This is the high-level, long-term goal for the product. The activities help align the team to the vision, but they do not create the vision itself.

Section 4.3, Facilitate Alignment: This section explicitly defines alignment as "the process of ensuring that stakeholders, team members, and the organization have a shared understanding of and agreement on the product's goals, scope, and constraints." It details how communication and collaboration are key to achieving this.

Section 3.2, Cultivate a Cohesive Team: This section emphasizes that "Effective communication and collaboration are essential for a cohesive team" and that these practices lead to a "shared understanding of the product vision and goals."

Sprint Planning section: This event is described as a collaborative effort for the entire Scrum Team to plan the work to be performed, which is a direct act of creating alignment on the Sprint Goal and how the work will be done.

This academic paper discusses how agile practices, which are rooted in communication and collaboration, are critical for creating "shared understanding" (i.e., alignment) within development teams, which is a key factor for success.
