Which type of Dell Avamar Gen4S node supports SAS drives?

Dell Avamar Gen4S hardware uses different drive types depending on the node's function. Storage nodes are optimized for capacity and use high-capacity SATA drives. Accelerator nodes, which handle computationally intensive tasks like data ingestion and deduplication, are optimized for performance. To support these performance requirements, Gen4S accelerator nodes are equipped with faster, lower-latency SAS drives for the operating system and metadata partitions.

Business Edition node: This is an all-in-one solution that prioritizes capacity and cost-effectiveness, typically using SATA drives for its main storage.

Media access node: This node is for tape integration and does not have the same internal storage configuration or performance requirements as an accelerator node.

Storage node: Gen4S storage nodes are explicitly designed for high-density capacity and use SATA drives, not SAS, for the primary data storage.
