What is the last step when adding a drive to a Dell PowerStore system?

The final step after successfully adding a new drive to a Dell PowerStore system is to back up the keystore. PowerStore systems use Data-at-Rest Encryption (D@RE) by default. When a new drive is added and incorporated into an encrypted appliance, the system's overall encryption and hardware configuration changes. To ensure the system's security state can be recovered in a disaster scenario, it is a critical best practice to perform a keystore backup immediately following such a hardware modification. This action captures the updated configuration and concludes the administrative procedure for the hardware change.

A. Verify the new drive is seen: This is one of the initial steps performed after physically inserting the drive to confirm that the system has detected the new hardware.

B. Add the drive to the pool: This is the core action of the process, but it is not the final administrative step, as security best practices must be followed afterward.

D. Zero the drive: This is an automated background process that the PowerStore system may perform when integrating a new drive; it is not a final manual step for the administrator.

Adding a drive to an encrypted appliance constitutes a change that affects the system's security configuration, making this the final recommended step.

The process involves inserting the drives, after which the system automatically detects them and adds the capacity to the appliance. The guide focuses on the operational steps, while the Security Guide specifies the final, crucial security-related action.
