Which of the following benefits of using Databricks SQL is provided by Data Explorer?

Data Explorer is the primary user interface within the Databricks workspace for managing data assets. It allows users to browse through catalogs, schemas, tables, and views to understand the available data (metadata). It includes a "Sample Data" tab for previewing the actual data within tables. Crucially, it also provides a "Permissions" tab where authorized users can view and modify access control lists (ACLs) for these data objects, making it a central hub for both data discovery and governance.

A: UPDATE queries are executed in the SQL editor, not directly within the Data Explorer interface, which is for browsing and managing objects.

C: Dashboards are a distinct feature in Databricks SQL, created by combining visualizations from one or more queries, not within Data Explorer.

D: Visualizations are created from query results within the SQL editor, not in Data Explorer.

E: Connections for third-party BI tools are configured using connection details from a SQL warehouse, not through the Data Explorer UI.

2. Databricks Documentation

"Manage data in Data Explorer": This page details the user interface

describing the tabs available when you select a table: "The Details tab shows the table schema and properties... The Sample Data tab shows a preview of the data... The Permissions tab lists all permissions on the table and provides an interface for granting and revoking permissions." This confirms the specific capabilities mentioned in the correct answer.
