What is the purpose of Smart chips in Google Docs?

Smart chips in Google Docs are dynamic, interactive elements that allow users to embed rich information and link to various resources directly within the document. By using the "@" symbol, users can insert chips for people, files, dates, calendar events, and places. This functionality serves to add context, provide quick access to related materials, and reference external information without leaving the document, thereby enhancing collaboration and information density.

A. To create custom headers and footers: This is a separate function in Google Docs, managed through the "Insert" menu, and is unrelated to Smart chips.

B. To track changes made in the document: This is accomplished by using "Suggesting" mode, which is Google's feature for tracking edits and comments.

C. To provide suggestions for grammar and spelling errors: This is a built-in writing assistance feature and is not related to the function of Smart chips.
