You are implementing a Pentaho server repository for a customer. The customer will be using the Pentaho Scheduler. Which repository supports this…

The Pentaho Scheduler is an integral feature of the Pentaho Server. This server-side component is designed to automate the execution of jobs and transformations. For the scheduler to access and manage these artifacts, they must be stored in the server's central repository, which is officially known as the Pentaho Repository. This repository, typically implemented with Apache Jackrabbit (a JCR), is the only one that fully integrates with all Pentaho Server features, including scheduling, security, versioning, and content management through the Pentaho User Console.

A. Carlo Repository: This is not a valid or recognized type of repository within the Pentaho ecosystem; it is a distractor option.

C. Kettle Database Repository: This repository stores PDI artifacts in a database but is primarily for use with the PDI client (Spoon) and does not directly integrate with the Pentaho Server's scheduler.

D. Kettle File Repository: This repository stores PDI artifacts in a file system. Like the database repository, it is intended for PDI client use and is not the target for the Pentaho Server's scheduling service.

"Set Up Pentaho Repositories": This document explicitly distinguishes between the Pentaho Repository and other repository types. It states

"The Pentaho Repository is the implementation of a content repository that provides storage

security

and versioning for the content you create in the Pentaho Server... PDI also provides two repository types of its own: the Pentaho database repository and the Pentaho file repository." This establishes the Pentaho Repository as the one associated with the Pentaho Server's core functions.

"Work with Schedules": This guide details the process of scheduling jobs and transformations. The procedure invariably involves browsing and selecting content that resides within the Pentaho Server's folder structure

which is a direct interface to the Pentaho Repository. It does not provide instructions for scheduling from external Kettle repositories.

"Components Reference"

Chapter: "Pentaho Repository": This chapter describes the architecture and purpose of the Pentaho Repository. It details how the repository underpins server functionality

including "scheduling of reports and jobs." This directly links the scheduling feature to this specific repository type.
