What is meant by "connectivity’’ as used in the LEED for Neighborhood Development Rating System?

In the context of LEED for Neighborhood Development, "connectivity" refers to the ease with which

people can move through a neighborhood, often measured by the number of publicly accessible

street intersections per square mile. High connectivity indicates a well-connected street network,

which facilitates walking, biking, and reduces vehicle miles traveled. This contributes to the creation

of more walkable, efficient, and sustainable neighborhoods. It is a key factor in promoting active

transportation and ensuring that a community is easily navigable.
