CloudHub is an example of which cloud computing service model?

CloudHub is classified as a Platform as a Service (PaaS). It provides a fully managed, cloud-native environment where developers can deploy, run, and manage their Mule applications without managing the underlying infrastructure, such as servers, operating systems, or networking. MuleSoft specifically categorizes CloudHub as an integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS), which is a specialized subset of PaaS focused on application and data integration. The platform supplies the runtime, services, and tools, allowing users to focus exclusively on building and deploying their integration logic.

A. Software as a Service (SaaS) delivers complete, ready-to-use applications to end-users. CloudHub is a platform for running custom applications, not a pre-built software application itself.

B. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provides raw computing resources like virtual machines and storage. With CloudHub, the underlying infrastructure is completely abstracted and managed by MuleSoft.

C. Monitoring as a Service (MaaS) is a specific service for monitoring infrastructure and applications. While CloudHub includes monitoring features, its primary purpose is application deployment and execution.

1. MuleSoft Official Documentation, "CloudHub": "CloudHub is an integration platform as a service (iPaaS) that enables you to deploy and run Mule applications in the cloud." This explicitly identifies CloudHub as an iPaaS, a type of PaaS. (Source: MuleSoft Docs > CloudHub > About CloudHub).

2. MuleSoft Official Documentation, "Anypoint Platform Overview": "Anypoint Platform is an integration platform as a service (iPaaS) solution for designing, developing, deploying, securing, and managing your APIs and integrations." As the runtime component of Anypoint Platform for cloud deployments, CloudHub embodies this PaaS model. (Source: MuleSoft Docs > Anypoint Platform > Anypoint Platform Overview).
