[Understand Terraform's Purpose and Use Cases] Which of these are features of Terraform Cloud? Choose two correct answers.

Terraform Cloud is a managed service that provides a stable, collaborative environment for using Terraform. Two of its core features are a web-based user interface (UI) and remote state storage. The web UI offers a centralized platform for managing workspaces, variables, permissions, and viewing the progress of Terraform runs. Remote state storage is a fundamental feature that securely stores the Terraform state file, enabling team collaboration by ensuring everyone is working with the same, up-to-date state and preventing conflicts. It also provides locking to prevent concurrent runs from corrupting the state.

B. While the UI shows the output of a plan and apply, Terraform Cloud does not automatically generate graphical visualizations or architectural diagrams of the deployed infrastructure.

C. Terraform Cloud provides state versioning, which allows you to view and restore previous state files, but "Automatic backups" is less precise. The primary feature is remote state management, of which versioning is a component.

"What is Terraform Cloud?": This document explicitly lists key features. It states

"Terraform Cloud manages Terraform runs in a consistent and reliable environment

and includes... a web UI for reviewing and approving Terraform runs." It also highlights

"Securely store and share infrastructure state with your team."

"Manage State in Terraform Cloud": This tutorial demonstrates the remote state storage feature. It explains

"Terraform Cloud can store and manage your Terraform state files. Storing state remotely is a best practice

as it provides a single source of truth for your team

keeps sensitive information off of your local machine

and helps with versioning and locking."

3. HashiCorp Terraform Documentation

"State in Terraform Cloud": This page details how state management works in Terraform Cloud. It says

"Terraform Cloud automatically configures remote state storage for all of your workspaces... Terraform Cloud also versions your state files. You can view the history of state changes for a given workspace

and in some cases

you can restore a previous version of your state." This confirms state versioning is a sub-feature of remote state management

making "Remote state storage" the more accurate primary feature.
