Which industry use case best demonstrates sustainability through digital transformation?

Digital transformation enables sustainability by leveraging IoT, data analytics, and connected systems to optimize resource consumption and reduce environmental impact. In the transportation sector, connected systems and telematics allow for dynamic route optimization, which significantly reduces fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This aligns with Cisco's sustainability objectives, where smart buildings, smart grids, and smart transportation utilize digital infrastructure to achieve energy efficiency and decarbonization goals. By integrating intelligent routing algorithms, companies can minimize idle times and lower their overall carbon footprint. The other options represent regressions in digital transformation or practices that actively harm efficiency and security, contradicting the core principles of sustainable IT and digital modernization.

B: Increasing paper forms increases physical waste and resource consumption, which is the exact opposite of sustainable digital transformation.

C: Disabling monitoring systems eliminates the data visibility required to optimize energy use and operational efficiency.

D: Removing secure connectivity introduces severe risks and degrades the digital infrastructure necessary for modern, efficient operations.
