In Adobe Launch, what is a key difference between Rules and Data Elements?

In Adobe Launch (now Adobe Experience Platform Tags), Rules and Data Elements serve distinct purposes. Rules are the core logic components that define when specific actions should occur based on events and conditions. They execute actions like sending analytics data or loading marketing tags. Data Elements, on the other hand, are reusable variables that store and retrieve data values from various sources (cookies, JavaScript variables, DOM elements, etc.). They act as a data abstraction layer, making it easier to reference and manage data across multiple rules without hardcoding values.

B. Data Elements retrieve/store data values; they don't execute JavaScript functions independently.

C. Rules and Data Elements have fundamentally different purposes - execution logic vs. data storage.

D. Rules can run without Data Elements; they're optional but recommended for maintainability.
