What is the name of the feature that allows NetBackup to protect workloads in the cloud and on- premises with a single solution?

Veritas NetBackup CloudMobility is a feature designed to automate and simplify the migration and recovery of workloads between on-premises data centers and public clouds. It allows an organization to use a single NetBackup solution to protect its on-premises workloads (like VMware or Hyper-V virtual machines) and recover them directly as cloud instances (e.g., AWS EC2 or Azure VMs). This capability enables disaster recovery in the cloud and workload migration, effectively providing a unified protection strategy for hybrid environments.

A. CloudPoint: This is a snapshot-based data protection feature. While it protects cloud and on-prem workloads, its primary function is snapshot orchestration, not the workload migration and conversion that CloudMobility provides.

B. CloudCatalyst: This feature provides deduplication for data being sent to cloud object storage. Its purpose is to optimize storage costs and bandwidth, not to enable workload mobility or recovery across platforms.

D. CloudSnap: This is a feature name primarily associated with Cohesity, used for archiving snapshots to the cloud. It is not a native Veritas NetBackup feature for workload mobility.

1. Veritas NetBackup™ 8.1.2 Cloud Administrator's Guide.

Section: Chapter 1

"Introducing NetBackup for cloud"

Content: This guide explicitly defines NetBackup CloudMobility as the feature that "automates and simplifies the recovery of virtual machines from an on-premises NetBackup environment to a cloud environment." It contrasts this with CloudCatalyst

which is described for storage optimization.

2. Veritas NetBackup Solution Brief: CloudMobility.

Section: "Automate and Simplify Workload Migration to the Cloud"

Content: The document states

"NetBackup CloudMobility simplifies and automates the migration of workloads from on-premises to the cloud... With a single click

you can orchestrate the recovery of an on-premises workload to the cloud." This confirms its role as the feature enabling a single solution for hybrid environments.

Content: Updates and enhancements to cloud features are detailed. Descriptions of CloudPoint focus on snapshot management for various cloud-native and on-prem applications

distinguishing its function from the workload conversion and migration capabilities of CloudMobility.
