Which of the following is NOT a type of update that can be installed on a NetBackup appliance?

While NetBackup appliances receive security fixes, "Security patch" is not a formal classification for an installable update package. Instead, security vulnerabilities are addressed and delivered within other standard update types. These include Emergency Engineering Binaries (EEBs) for urgent targeted fixes, or larger Maintenance Releases (MRs) and Release Updates (RUs). The appliance's management and update mechanisms are designed to process specific package formats like EEBs, firmware updates, and release updates, not a generic category called "Security patch."

A. VxUpdate: These are official NetBackup client deployment packages. They are installed and hosted on the appliance when it functions as a master server to update clients.

B. EEB: An Emergency Engineering Binary (EEB) is a standard type of hotfix provided by Veritas to address a specific, often critical, issue on an appliance.

D. Firmware update: This is a distinct and necessary update type for the physical hardware components of the NetBackup appliance, such as the BIOS, RAID controllers, and network cards.
