What is an advantage of a strong organizational culture?

A strong organizational culture is one where core values are intensely held and widely shared among its members. This shared understanding creates a powerful sense of identity and unity. When employees strongly believe in the organization's values, their commitment to the organization deepens. This commitment translates into higher motivation, lower turnover, and greater consistency in behavior, all of which are significant advantages. A strong culture acts as a social control system, guiding how employees should behave and fostering a bond between the individual and the organization.

A. The internal climate exhibits low behavioral control: A strong culture creates high behavioral control through powerful, shared norms, not low control.

B. There is ambiguity in what employees perceive as expectations: A strong culture reduces ambiguity by making values and behavioral expectations clear and consistent.

C. Core values are not intensely held and widely shared: This is the definition of a weak organizational culture, the opposite of a strong one.
