Which namespace contains classes used to interact with visualizations in a document?

The Spotfire.Dxp.Application.Visualizations namespace is the correct location within the TIBCO Spotfire API for classes that represent and allow interaction with visualizations. This namespace contains the specific classes for each visualization type (e.g., BarChart, ScatterPlot, TablePlot) as well as base classes and interfaces that define the common behavior and properties of all visualizations. Developers use these classes to programmatically create, configure, and manipulate visualizations within a Spotfire analysis file.

A. Spotfire.Dxp.Application.Tools: This namespace contains classes for user interaction tools like the Lasso or Rectangle selection tools, not the visualization objects themselves.

B. Spotfire.Dxp.Application.VisualCollection: This is a class, not a namespace. The VisualCollection class, found in the Spotfire.Dxp.Application namespace, represents a collection of Visual objects on a page.

C. Spotfire.Dxp.Application.AnalyticItems: This namespace is used for managing analytic items such as bookmarks, data functions, and information links, not for the core visualization types.

E. Spotfire.Dxp.Application.Visuals: This namespace does not exist. The correct and official namespace is Spotfire.Dxp.Application.Visualizations.

1. TIBCO Spotfire® API Reference: The official documentation explicitly defines the Spotfire.Dxp.Application.Visualizations namespace. The namespace summary states

"Contains classes and interfaces for visualizations." It lists key classes such as BarChart

and the base Visualization class.

examples of manipulating visualizations consistently import and use classes from the Spotfire.Dxp.Application.Visualizations namespace.
