Which of the following are types of action controls? Choose 3 answers

In TIBCO Spotfire, action controls are interactive elements placed within a Text Area visualization that allow users to trigger predefined operations. The user interface elements that can be configured to function as action controls are Buttons, Links, and Images. When a user clicks on one of these elements, it can execute an action such as navigating to another page, applying a bookmark, or running an IronPython script.

B. Scripts: A script is an action that is executed by an action control; it is not the control element itself. The control is the UI element (e.g., a button) that the user clicks.

1. TIBCO Spotfire® Analyst User's Guide (Version 12.0 LTS)

Chapter: Visualizations

Section: Text Area.

Page/Section: "Adding an Action Control to the Text Area". This section explicitly states: "You can add action controls to a text area

which allow end users of the analysis to perform actions... by clicking on a button or a link in the text area." This directly supports options A (Links) and D (Buttons).

2. TIBCO Spotfire® Analyst User's Guide (Version 12.0 LTS)

Chapter: Visualizations

Section: Text Area.

Page/Section: "Inserting an Image in the Text Area". The procedure for inserting an image allows adding a link to it. This link can be an action link that triggers a script or other Spotfire actions

effectively making the image a type of action control. This supports option C (Images).

3. TIBCO Spotfire® Analyst User's Guide (Version 12.0 LTS)

Chapter: Visualizations

Section: Text Area.

Page/Section: "Details on Insert Link". When inserting a link (which can be applied to text or an image)

the dialog box provides an "Actions" section. This section allows the configuration of various actions

including "Execute a script"

confirming that a script is the result of an action control

not the control itself. This supports the reasoning for excluding option B.
