What is the main role of CCTV systems in data centre security?

The main role of a Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system in a data center is to provide continuous surveillance. It monitors and records all activities in critical areas, both inside and around the facility, acting as a deterrent to unauthorized actions and providing crucial evidence for forensic analysis after a security incident. This comprehensive monitoring is essential for maintaining the physical integrity of the data center's secure zones.

A: Data centers operate 24/7; security monitoring must be continuous, not limited to business hours.

C: Access control systems (ACS), not CCTV, are responsible for physically controlling door access.

D: Power usage is monitored by a Building Management System (BMS) or DCIM, not a security camera system.
